Classes, Show and Tell, and a Give-away!

There’s been so much happenng lately (not to mention school hol’s) I’ve got lot’s to share. So, here is an update. First up is Show and Tell:

Kim made this raggy quilt last week in flannels, and she made it for herself – good for you Kim! I just love the random applique squares – don’t you think thy add a nice touch of detail, and bring all the fabrics together?

And this is Megan’s bag, made with one of Natalie Rosses new patterns. So cute and stylish, not to mention cool colours! (Keep reading to the end of the post for a give-away from Natalie.)

Now on to recent classes…and I did not take one picture durng Julie Nixon’s Machine Quilting Class. Not one. But we all learnt lots (some of us didn’t learn as much as we should have, so will be attending the next class!) I will be posting pics of some projects completed on the night very soon. In the meantime, here is a not-so-brilliant machine quilted cot quilt (way more practice required!!!) completed due to Julie’s assistance, patience, and instructions.

Tom’s friend is a Bunny made by Sue (ya gotta have a buddy who matches your quilt, right?), from another of Natalie Rosses patterns(she’s such a clever girl).

And today was the kids beading class. It was a full-house, but very ably handled by our guest teachers, Kahlia and Ari. Thanks Ladies!

This is Charlottes finished creation – pretty and pink – can’t go wrong with that combo.

Phew. So that brings us to our next give-away. Since we’ve featured Natalie in this post, I have a couple of funky notepads from her to give away. Leave me a comment about what your making at the moment, or what you wish you were making! And remember, we love to see your finished projects, so bring them into the shop, or if your a bit far away, email us a photo!

And more Show and Tell!

Although we all know Katherine best for her beautiful jewellery creations, she has begun loitering in a different corner of the shop recently – and just look at this sensational card (album?) she came up with for her sister’s Birthday – what a special present.

 Happy Birthday Judith!

And Faye called in to show us this necklace she made today – dontcha just love that you can just whip something up for every outfit??!

Term 2 Classes

Yep, we’re ready to roll for Term 2, with some very exciting classes lined up.

Our July Quilting Chix will be hosted by Julie Nixon from a Patchy Affair, who will be teaching us Machine Quilting.

On June 25th, the very talented Tracey Browning will be presenting 2 sessions on Quizzles and colour selections ( always a hot topic!). Think we’ll throw some drinks and nibbles into this one!

Claudia will be launching Knitting Chix this Term, so drag out those needles and join the fun. Or if you’d rather Crochet, that’s OK too!

These are just a few highlights – click on the Classes Page to the left for the scoop on all Classes.

You can book on 8821 2700,  register on-line in the Comments section, or call in and see us in person!

PS Also have a couple of classes for the next lot of School Holidays.

Working on it….

We will have new classes sorted by the end of the week….In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek:

Quilting Chix will start again on Feb 5th @ 7pm

Smocking & Embroidery Classes start again on Feb 11th @ 10am

And we are launching the Nice People Nice Things Block of the Month in March. Everybody participating in this will be invited to a free class on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. We will stitch, chat and share nice things with each other!

We are looking forward to another fun crafty term!

Classes 2008

We are starting to plan for classes ( Ok, plan may be too generous a phrase….but we are thinking….a little!)

We’d love to hear your wish list – even if it doesn’t happen in first term, it might be slotted in later in the year.

Call into the shop for a chat, or leave us a comment (we know your lurking out there – don’t be shy, come say hello!).
