CLASSES TERM 4 2011

“FRIENDSHIP
BASKET QUILT”

5 x 2 1/2 hour lessons

Classes will run over a 10 week period

Tuesday evenings 7-9pm on

18^thOctober, 1st Nov, 15^th Nov, 29^th
Nov and Dec 13^th

“CHRISTMAS
SAMPLER QUILT”

4 x 2 1/2 hour lessons

Classes will run over an 8 week period

Thursday afternoons 12.30-3pm on

20^th October, 3^rd Nov, 17^th
Nov and 1^st Dec

Should these classes fill there is the opportunity

For an alternative Tuesday evenings 7-9.30pm on

Oct 25^th, Nov 8^th, Nov 22^nd, Dec
7^th and/or 21^st
Dec

(depends which quilt)

Cost:
$25 per session plus Fabric requirements

ie
$125 Friendship Basket, $100 Christmas Sampler

The Move

We finally made it!

We are now at 15 Taylor Street Kadina.

We are moving to 15 Taylor St, Kadina… Right next door to Des’s butchers… Back one diagonal block from where we are now…

Whichever way we say it, we’re still about the place!!!

We will have to close, however, in order to pack up all the pretties and relocate them… Also, the MEGA facelift happening on the new shop needs a few more days to become beautiful!!!

WE WILL BE CLOSED THURSDAY 24th March to MONDAY 29th March…

Date extended for giving quilting items

Good Evening

We’ve just found out that the posting date has been extended for parcels of love to a fellow quilter… See our previous blogs for items required. Please have donations into our store by Monday, March 14th. We have received many generous donations so far, so thank you all!!!

Updates on the website for the collection explain any parcels not sent to individuals affected by the floods will be sent to Cyclone & Victorian flood victims. Many more are required by the lovely ladies doing the collecting & they have combined their efforts with the Queensland Quilters Guild to streamline service, so have a look through and see if there are any spare items you have . . . donate one single item or a whole kit – it all counts!!!

Every time we receive a donation before 11am on 21st February, we will put your name into the draw for a terrific Sally Giblin cushion & stitchery pattern. This was the date for the original post off so we will stick to this date for our draw as previously advertised… All donations after this date will be gratefully received

In other news, our new shop location is looking a little worse for wear at the moment – the builder is in the middle of demolishing all the internal walls to expand the space for our stock to inhabit

It’s Official!!! We have a new site for our shop.

We have a new site for Country Chix!!! Many preparations will be undertaken before we can actually make the move, but we’d like to let you know that we will be moving around the block (literally)… Stay tuned for a photo (yet to come off the camera), but we will keep you informed of all our exciting changes to the new premises in preparation for our relocation. In a couple months time you will be able to collect your meat from Des’s butchers in Kadina, after calling into us next door at 15 Taylor St, Kadina
The building used to house offices, so some serious re-arranging is in order. Our trusty builder is going to start by knocking out a wall or two, or three!!! We are all very excited!!! Yay!!! Hope this enthusiasm keeps up to fuel us for the imminent moving of mountains of stock (ahem) “all our lovely crafty and gifty items”.

YOU CAN HELP A FELLOW CRAFTER IN QLD

The floods in Queensland have affected so many people and we’d like to help in a small way…
Many crafters have lost their belongings – how would any of us be without our stash!!!

Country Chix will be collecting items to send to the wonderful Gumtree Designs ladies, so drop in any one or all of the below items and they will be appreciated by a fellow crafter.
PLEASE talk to everyone in your craft or quilting groups, neighbours, rellies and friends – let’s show how much spirit and empathy we have!!!
*** ITEMS NEED TO BE AT COUNTRY CHIX BY FRIDAY, 18TH FEBRUARY ***
Kits are being made to send to quilting groups within flood affected areas, the following items are required:

1. A handmade sewing caddy, complete with needlebook and pincushion.
(patterns for these can be your own, or find caddy patterns when you click the above gumtree designs link)
2. A pair of embroidery scissors with a scissor keep.
3. Six individual skeins of stranded embroidery threads.
4. Embroidery needles.
5. 1 fat quarter of fabric.
6. Drawstring bag to hold the items (the designers are making these, but if you can provide one, that would be great too )
