Sock SOS

I recieved this email from Fiona during the week:

From the 28th June Paul (my husband), Nadine (daughter) and myself will be travelling to Northern Cambodia (Plas Prai) to do some volunteer work.  We will be visiting a  hostel set up for teenage girls to help with their education. In Cambodia it is considered a waste of time to educate the girls as they are expected to look after their elderly parents and get married. The group we are going with is hoping to create teachers and nurses to return to the villages so they don’t have to rely on outside help.  It is also more likely that educated mothers are more likely to educate their children.
As part of this visit we are expected to organize some craft activities.  With the teenagers we are going to make sock puppets so we are looking for old interesting socks and buttons.
Much of the supplies we will purchase in Phnon Penh but would really like to have the opportunity to get some interesting socks and buttons to take with us.

 Thanks

Cheers

So I told Fiona, of course we can help. We can, can’t we? Come on gather up those odd socks and buttons, and drop them into us at Country Chix, so that we can pass them on to Fiona.
