So much packed in to such a short time, it’s hard to know where to start. As much fun as it is to attend Trade Shows (and I’m not gonna lie and pretend it isn’t!), it can also become a bit overwhelming, and I’m so glad we were able to take photo’s freely, to keep as a reference point. ( Thankyou to all of the very kind exhibitors who gave us permission to do that!)
Since I can’t possibly put all of this week-end into one post, I thought I’d start wth introducing some of the wonderful people we met, old friends and new.
For me, it is always a highlight to meet a designer. I admit to being star struck at times (we country girls don’t get out much!), but it is just amazing to meet and chat to the people whose work you have admired, and to have the opportunity to see their work in real-life.
So, of course we bee-lined to see the lovely Helen at Hugs’n'Kisses. We weren’t disappointed with the “real” Nice peple Nice Things Quilt in the flesh (so to speak), and many of Helen’s gorgeous new designs will be winging their way to us very soon.
Here is Sue with Monica of Moon Shine Designs, and her daughter Allaura. One of the very obvious trends is a swing back to dressmaking, but in a very simple format. Keep watching fo those new patterns to arrive, they are very groovy.
Here I am with Robyn Allen-Waters, who makes the most divine buttons – we’ll be nabbing them shortly, and stay tuned for a give-away from her. Also helping her out this week-end were the fun and bubbly Lise and Sue.
It’s always nice to catch up with some familiar faces at shows like this – many of our local customers will recognize Tracey Browning, who had Gail Dayman helping her out over the weekend.
And one of our favourites, Natalie from Natalie Ross in Stitches, was there with her sister Mel – They were just fantastic to meet, and when did my camera battery run out??!!! Ofcourse. And then so did our time so we didn’t make it back for a pic. So here is one of my favourite quilts designed by Natalie instead, and to see her beautiful smile, mosey on over to her blog and say Hi.
Oh, and did I mention Paris?? Indeed I did. Just to change the subject of this post completely, (oh, the power) my gorgeous cousin Christie got engaged to her very charming boyfriend Tony last week. And where did he propose? Oh, you know, just on the Eiffel Tower! Oh so romantic, what’s a girl to do? Say Yes of course!!!!!! Sigh. Love to you both, and safe travels home x
