Finally had a play with the Beatrix Potter Panel and used the acompanying instructions (I know, what was I thinking?!) to make up the book. Very cute, and also very easy. And the perfect Easter pressie for a baby who will be arriving sometime in June (decided choccies probably weren’t appropriate!)

At my last class, I got paid out for using this box to store my project in (Sonia, I hope your reading this!) Ok, I do realize it’s pretty ordinary, but you know, it was handy at the time. So after I got home, I had a look through the special storage peices sitting neatly (and emptily) on the floor, next to the shelf, which is yet to be affixed…..and found this:
So, now I feel stylish and organized!

The very talented Julie Nixon of “The Patchy Affair” is now offering a Machine Quilting service, and even better, also offering a 20% discount for any that are booked in before the end of March. Ok, I know that’s only a week away, but you only have to book-in before then.
We have some of the quilting designs in the shop for you to have a peek at, and you can also check out some of Julie’s other work in this months Handmade magazine.
So, gather those quilt tops stashed away in cupboards, give Julie a buzz on 0418891601 or email her at thepatchyaffair@bigpond.com - and tell her we sent you!

We launched our Nice people nice Things Block of the Month tonight, Finally! We have been busting to share some blocks with you (coz they are very cute) but wanted to wait til we were full steam ahead…and now we are. It was lots of fun, we drank champagne, we ate pate and very gorgeous cupcakes (Thanks Kahlia!), and some people even stitched!

Here are a couple of blocks to get you all started , and don’t forget to check out Helen’s Blog here, as she has a little Easter Pressie for you all too.
(I think these first blocks may actually have been designed for me!)

Happy stitching everybody!

Di brought these pages in to show us today. She has been doing an album of her family’s history, and we are so loving what she comes up with.

Told you I’d try to do something a bit interesting this week-end. I was the Celebrant for Nick and Tracey’s surprise Wedding. Very cool. They invited their families out for tea to celebrate Tracey’s Birthday, and after the main course was cleared, we had a Wedding!
We have been doing secret squirrel things for weeks now, and it’s been killing me! I am not a secrets girl. Really. If you have one, don’t tell me. I have no wish to betray a confidence, I’m just really bad at it. But for this one, it was so worth it. I held it in (yey!) and everything went just as Nick and Tracey had planned.
It is so special for me to be part of so important a moment in a couples lives. I am always honoured to be involved, and it is very uplifting to be able to watch a couple move into the next phase of their relationship.
So, Congratulations Nick and Tracey, wishing you many years of love and laughter as you begin this new journey together, and also to Jack, their beautiful little boy, who makes them a family.

A very quiet (and hot!) week here. Besides shifting furniture in the shop today (as you do when it’s 38 degrees!), nothing of much interest to report. Don’t think we haven’t been busy though. We are gearing up for our Nice people, Nice things launch on March 18th, cutting, stitching, and packing madly. Oh, and sorting out a few treats to share on the night!
In the meantime here are a few card ideas to share (yes, I realize they have nothing whatsoever to do with the Nice people, Nice things Block of the Month!):

Yep, still loving those Amy Butler cards!
Will try to have something interesting to share with you after the Week-end….
